Barn Fire May 6, 2006
06 May 2006 - 911 received multiple call reporting a large fire. Callers could see smoke and flames but were not sure what was burning or where the exact location was. Police and fire officers searched the area and found the fire to be a fully involved barn at the end of an extremely long driveway. Apparatus from New Hanover (37) and Sassamansville (68) responded to control the blaze. A pond adjacent to the barn provided a stable water supply for the multiple master streams that were used to control the fire. Fire personnel remained on scene just over three hours. Gilbertsville Ambulance (332) was also on the scene to provide rehab and medical care.Photos by Jason Wood Return to Past Incidents Page updated 15 March 2007 |
