15 November 2005 - At approximately 3:30 in the morning, the New Hanover Fire Company (37) was dispatched to assist the Sassamansville Fire Company (68) on a barn fire. Police arrived on location first and advised the dispatch center that the building was fully involved. The property was very remote, over 2000 feet from the roadway. Firefighters worked to protect exposures and extinguish the fire. Command requested the next two tankers for additional water supply. This brought in the Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue Company (Tanker 67-1) as well as the Upper Frederick Fire Company (Tanker 87). Units were on scene for just under 3 hours.
