17 September 2005 - While en route to another call, Assistant 37 noticed smoke from a brush pile along with side of the road. Upon return from the original call, New Hanover firefighters stopped to investigate. Upon arrival, a brush pile was found to be burning unattended. New Hanover firefighters, with the assistance of Sassamansville's field piece, extinguished the pile and pulled it apart to hit the hot spots.
