Fire Alarm September 18, 2006
18 September 2005 - New Hanover Fire Company (37) was dispatched for an automatic fire alarm only blocks away from the firehouse. Firefighters arrived on location and investigated the cause, which was found to be from a burnt cookie in the microwave. This caused a light smoke condition in the house. Firefighters used fans to ventilate the structure. Kitchen safety is very important. Even though a microwave does not have an open flame, it can be dangerous. Always be careful when cooking and never leave food cooking while unattended.Photos by Jason Wood Return to Past Incidents Page updated 24 March 2006 |
