18 February 2008 - Stations 37 (New Hanover) and 68 (Sassamansville) were dispatched for a building fire on Swamp Pike just before noon. Units arrived to find smoke coming from the rear corner of what was previously a multiple occupancy dwelling. Crews from Ladder 37 began to attack the fire and ventilate the structure while Engine 37 laid a supply line from an adjacent hydrant. Additional companies were requested for RIT and manpower. A large amount of debris inside the structure posed an additional challenge for all who responded. In the end the fire was contained to the room of origin and all personnel returned home safely. Responding units included Engine and Ladder 37 (New Hanover), Engine and Special Service 68 (Sassamansville), Squad and Ladder 54 (Limerick), Engine and Quint 58 (Sanatoga), Squad 67 (Gilbertsville), and Medic 332 (Gilbertsville EMS). The Salvation Army canteen unit was also on scene to provide nourishment for the firefighters. 18 October 2007 - Station 37 (New Hanover) was dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries in the early morning hours in the area of Our Place Restaurant. One vehicle had struck a concrete trolly block causing it to overturn. The driver was our of the vehicle and being tended to by EMS upon the arrival of fire units. Firefighters controlled the fluids leaking from the vehicle, swept the debris off the roadway, and assisted the tow operator in righting the vehicle.Photo by Jason Wood
4 October 2007 - Station 37 (New Hanover) was dispatched to the intersection of N. Charlotte St. and Anthony Dr. for a reported vehicle fire. The caller reported smoke from the engine compartment of the vehicle. Fire units arrived on location to find a vehicle off to the side of the road with its hood up. No smoke or fire was observed coming from the vehicle. After further investigation by the chief officers and the fire marshal all units cleared the scene.Photo by Jason Wood

Major operates the elevated master stream on Ladder 37. 2 October 2007 - Station 37 (New Hanover) along with Field 68 (Sassamansville) was dispatched for a field fire late this evening. Vehicles in the area reported seeing smoke and flames in a wooded area off of Swamp Pike. Fire officers searched the area for the cause and Deputy 37 (Harned) discovered a barn fully involved back a long driveway off of Swamp Pike. Upon the arrival of the first fire apparatus the roof had already collapsed into the building and defensive operations were initiated. Units used an adjacent fire hydrant for a water supply. The fire was extinguished and all units returned to station in just over an hour.Photos by Jason Wood
15 August 2007 - The New Hanover Fire Company was dispatched for a vehicle accident with injuries. The two vehicle involved were still in the roadway and there was a large amount of debris scattered all around. The emergency personnel on scene worked together with the tow company to quickly clear to roadway and allow rush-hour traffic to resume its normal flow.Photos by Jason Wood
16 May 2007 - Ladder 37 was dispatched to assist Sassamansville (68) with a possible structure fire after a lightening strike. Units arrived on location and searched the residence for any signs of fire. No problems were found the and all units cleared the scene without incident.Photos by Jason Wood
