The dump truck (Top Left) swerved to avoid an accident and ended up rolling, catching the rear of an SUV (Top Right). Bottom Left: A backhoe arrives to remove the stone from the roadway. Bottom Right: A heavy-wrecker rights the truck. 08 July 2006 - A medium sized landscaping dump truck flipped onto its side when it swerved in an attempt to avoid an accident. Company 37 was dispatched to the scene. The truck ended up clipping the rear of an SUV as it rolled and dumped its load of gravel into the street. Thankfully nobody was injured. A backhoe, operated by Road Master and New Hanover firefighter Ray Batchelder arrived to clear the stone. A heavy-wrecker was called to the scene to right the dump truck. After the scene was cleared all units returned to station.
Later that evening, Company 37 personnel responded to a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle in the area of Car Corner. EMS was already on scene when fire units arrived. Firefighters assisted EMS with patient care and packaging. A landing zone for med-evac was established at Boyertown Junior High East. Two patients were flows to local trauma centers.
