Public Relations

This page contains letters of "thanks" and other items of public pride involving the New Hanover Township Fire Company No 1.

The below was published in the bulletin of the New Hanover Evengelical Lutheran Church:

Informational Announcement: On Wednesday evening, July 27, the church steeple was struck by lightening. The fire and police departments response was outstanding., The fireball escaped outside the building and there was no fire or smoke. The fire department inspected the building. They remained at the church for about one hour and extended their ladder to the bell tower. There was (and, in some cases, still is) damage to the organ, the carillon, the fire alarm system, telephones, and internet. We are thankful that there was no fire, and for the rapid response of the township's volunteer fire company and police department.

The New Hanover Fire Company worked with the local Boy Scout Troop #134 in a fire related activity that they, and other local troops were participating in. New Hanover was asked to provide our fire trucks to use in the above picture. The fire company recently received and certificate of appreciation as well as the a frame containing the all of the troops' fire patches. We would like to thank Troop #134 for asking us to join them. Don't be afraid to come and visit us sometime.

Local Girl Scout Heather Ward, troop #796, recently completed her gold award. Ward sewed 80 bears and donated them to local emergency service organization in the Boyertown/Gilbertsville area. New Hanover Fire Company Deputy Chief Tom Harned accepted the bears on behalf of the fire company. We would like to thank Heather for her donation and wish her the best of luck in the future.
