Vehicle Rescue   February 11, 2005

11 February 2005 - The New Hanover Fire Company (37) was dispatched on an automatic aid response to assist the Upper Frederick Fire Company (87) with a vehicle rescue. The driver of the vehicle had apparently left the roadway, sheared a utility pole, and come to rest on the driver side of the vehicle against a tree. Fire personnel arrived and worked for an extended period of time to recover the driver from the vehicle. The drive had unfortunately succumbed to his injuries but thankfully no one else was injured in the collision.
